girls and meHello, My name is Yael, I am a recognised Doula and member of Doula UK living in lovely Aberdeenshire. I trained with Nurturing Birth to become a Birth Doula in October 2011. Last year I trained with NHS Grampian to become a breastfeeding peer supporter and volunteer my time supporting new mothers breastfeed at the Maternity hospital; I am also a member of our MSLC (Maternity Services Liaison Committee).
I have been married for 15 years and have four lovely children ranging from 8 years to our newest baby born November 2012. I have breastfed all four, and still currently nursing our youngest; I managed to successfully nurse through my last pregnancy and with a lot of support from my husband managed to tandem feed the little two up to last year. I babywear using wraps and slings and have some aromatherapy experience. I love to cook, read books and sewing and crocheting. I would love to learn to knit as well, but lets just say I am terrible at it!

Our first baby was born in hospital and for our other three babies we had the support of a doula and had three homebirths two in water and the very last one was in too much of a rush to wait for the pool to be filled! we decided to look for a Doula for support thanks to our Midwife introducing the idea when pregnant for the first time. the support and encouragement we had through our journeys was invaluable and having had that support and great empowering experiences I decided to pay it forward; so here I am, trying to provide the same unconditional support to other parents to be so they can also look back and remember their birth as one of the best experiences of their lives. I look forward in meeting you and supporting you through your pregnancy and birth journey, whether is your first baby, or your third, home, or hospital.
